Success and Inner Peace

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Success and Inner Peace–Yes, they are complimentary.

I was fortunate to meet Dr. Wayne Dyer on the east coast of Florida a while ago.

His books and talks featured on public television still inspire me. One book I remember is titled Ten Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.

One of his messages is that “knowing that you can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it has helped me toward my goal of inner peace.

Success – E Books 2

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Many wonder why bother:

  • They are especially good for writers with a list of their books that are no longer in print but the author wants to keep them in circulation.

  • An expensive alternative for specific genres. Romance is one of the fastest-growing e-book markets. Books that don’t fit a specific genre work well as ebooks.

According to the Science Fiction Writers SFWA.org, http://www.sfwa.org/beware/epublishers.html:

  • “While epublishers don’t typically pay advances, royalties for ebooks are usually a good deal higher than for print books. 40-50% of the download price isn’t uncommon…

  • “Ebooks offer flexibility in regard to format, as well as the possibility of combining graphics, sound, and various interactivity options with the text.”

The excerpt below is from 2009 INDIE Finalist, “Success, Your Path to a Successful Book,” by Maralyn D. Hill and Brenda C. Hill.

Ebooks are a limited niche market. A growing number of people want ebooks. Online booksellers expect ebooks to command a larger share of the market than currently held.

Be careful not to expect an ebook to launch your print book. It is difficult to get reviews. Marketing and promoting your ebook are still necessary steps for positive results.

While searching for an ebook publisher, its website, staff, and all around presentation should be professional. Be certain the publisher has been in business at least a year or two. Many go in and out of business rapidly.

We will list some epublishing sites for reference. Many are from http://www.SFWA.org. See E-Books 3.

There are many guidelines for success in any genre.
However, the most important one is to tell a good story.
